Haarlem
Our hotel in Haarlem was a nice place to sit outside and people watch.
A local guide, Hans, gave a fact-filled and interesting tour of Haarlem for our group.
We enjoyed sitting on the Grote Markt square and watching shoppers, bikers, tourists, and local people go about their lives in this busy Dutch market town.
We attended a Mozart concert in the  Grote Kerk performed by a local orchestra and singers.  After the concert, we toured the beautiful old church and saw the huge pipe organ that reaches almost to the ceiling and covers one wall.  The temperature inside the church is two months behind the temperature on the outside.  A cool place to go on a warm July evening.
We watched the World Cup with a few local residents at the Restaurant Venezia and enjoyed a good meal.   It was fun to be in Europe during the World Cup.
