Lauterbrunnen
Our drive from Genoa to the Lauterbrunnen Valley was beautiful as we passed Lake Como, Lake Lugano, and wound our way through the tunnels and mountains. We stayed in the Hotel Oberland in the quaint little alpine village of Lauterbrunnen. The valley is surrounded by the alps and striped with water falls. Our room overlooked the main street and one side of the valley.
The Staubbach Falls near the church at the end of town in Lauterbrunnen was beautiful, especially at night and early morning.
The owner of the Hotel Oberlander was an Australian who served us an excellent group meal of fondue, chicken, and rostie.
