Venice is a magical place.  We took a boat from the bus to our hotel near the Accademia Bridge.  Then the group walked over to Piazza San Marco.  We went to dinner with Ferdi, Wes, and Ginger near the piazza.  After dinner, we had gelato at Boutique de Gelato.  Nancy and Gary stopped at the Lavena Cafe on Piazza San Marco for coffee, people watching, and music.  The picture of Piazza San Marco was taken from inside the Museo Civico Correr.
We celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary at the Ristorante San Stefano on Campo San Stefano.   As the sun set, we made our way to the gondola station.  Ferdi had arranged  gondola rides for the group, complete with musicians.  An unforgettable anniversary.
We slept in on the second day in Venice and timed a visit to the Basilica San Marco so we could see the mosaics with the lighting on.  If possible, try to see the inside when the lights are on.  The true beauty of the mosaics can be seen then.  We saw the Tintoretto paintings at the Scuolo Grande San Rocco in the afternoon.
