Even though Neuschwanstein Castle has appeared on untold calendars, it was still a thrill to see it.  We took the guided tour through the castle and stayed to explore and have coffee.  We took the bus down to the small village below the castle and bought a picnic lunch.  We ate beside this incredibly beautiful mountain lake, Alp-See, and  soaked up the warm sun until time to go back to Reutte.
Wes rode the Sommerrodelbahn .  Everyone had a blast on the luge rides.
We stayed in the Hotel Maximilian in the tiny village of Ehenbichl.  The village held a "Dorf-Fest" near the hotel and we went over to hear the band. Fun.
All of the elaborate trim around the windows of this hotel in Reutte is painted on the wall.
Reutte
We awoke one morning with clouds level with our hotel window.
